David L. Laxton, Executive VP and CFO
David Laxton is Executive Vice President and Chief Financial Officer of Edgen Murray. After having served in this capacity for Edgen Murray’s predecessor companies, Mr. Laxton was appointed to his current position in September 2008.
Prior to joining Edgen Murray, Mr. Laxton served as chief financial officer of an industrial distributor of tube fittings and filtration products from January 1991 to December 1996.
With over 20 years of experience in industrial distribution, Mr. Laxton also has held consulting positions with one of the Big Four accounting firms and with an investment-banking firm.
In addition to his role with Edgen Murray, Mr. Laxton serves as vice chairman of American Gateway Bank and was a former president of the Baton Rouge Chapter of the National Association of Purchasing Management.
Mr. Laxton received his bachelor’s in history and master’s in accounting from Louisiana State University and is now a member of LSU’s Accounting Advisory Board in the E. J. Ourso College of Business.
