Oracle Applications (Apps) DBA Position Purpose
Administration and support of our Oracle database and application environments which includes production support as well as project support.
Major Tasks, Responsibilities and Key Accountabilities
- Production support of our Oracle environments (specifically Oracle Applications)
- Work with end users and IT to support implemented Oracle Applications and Third Party solutions
- Work with technical and infrastructure team to coordinate upgrades, patches and resolve issues
- Support the development team for enhancements, trouble shooting and issue resolution
- Plan and coordinate application changes, upgrades, patches
Knowledge, Skills, Abilities and Competencies
- Experienced in the implementation, upgrade and performance tuning aspects of Oracle EBS application, versions 11 and 12 including load balancing, backup/recovery, sizing, space management and diagnostics.
- Experienced in the implementation, upgrade and performance tuning aspects of Oracle 11g database
- Experienced in implementing and supporting a hot fail-over site using Oracle DataGuard or comparable experience in HA or 7x24 operations
- Experience with the Oracle Technology Stack including database server, applications server, web server, concurrent processing server, reports server, forms server, admin server and Discoverer.
- Experience with production support in a Unix environment (preferably AIX)
- Knowledge of Oracle's Application database architecture including schemas, database objects, file system structure, tables, views, packages, procedures, functions, triggers, etc.
- Experience with Oracle's support system, TAR's and patching a must.
- Experience with Unix shell commands and scripting.
- Able to work independently and as part of a team. Requires good communications skills.

Location: Baton Rouge, LA preferred

Minimum Qualifications
- Must be eighteen years of age or older
- Must pass the Drug Test
- Must pass the Background Check
- Must pass pre-employment tests if applicable
Preferred Qualifications
- Oracle certification (Associate, Professional or Master) on database or application
- 5-7 Years relevant work experience
- Demonstrated hands-on experience with R12 upgrades
- Experience with Oracle's BPEL product a plus
- Oracle certification (Associate, Professional or Master)
Education Required - The knowledge, skills and abilities typically acquired through the completion of a bachelor's degree program or equivalent degree in a field of study related to the job.
Environmental Job Requirements
Located in a comfortable indoor area. Any unpleasant conditions would be infrequent and not objectionable.
Typically requires overnight travel less than 10% of the time.
