Alkylation Units

Alkylation units are one of the conversion processes used in petroleum refineries. They are used to convert low-molecular-weight alkenes and isobutene into a high quality, clean burning gasoline component know as alkylate. The hydrofluoric and sulfuric acids that are used in the process are highly corrosive liquids, and thus, alkylation units require materials that can withstand these intense environments.
