Inland Waterways- Locks & Dams

Approximately 50 percent of the locks and dams that are controlled by the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers are over 50 years old. Many of these projects are approaching the end of their design life and will need to be renovated and restructured to adhere to specific rules and regulations pertaining to safety standards and to ensure safe travels along inland waterways.

Edgen Murray possesses the knowledge and capabilities to deliver structural steel products for the restoration of locks and dams. Over the past 6 years, we have supplied highly specialized carbon steel pipes for many heavy civil projects including the Olmsted Locks and Dam project in Olmsted, Illinois. We understand that requirements typically call for high volumes of material in a variety of sizes so we assign an internal project manager to oversee the day-to-day operations, inspection, and logistics of all projects; maintaining continuous communication to ensure compliance and performance to execute the project successfully. Our knowledge and expertise of the Federal Acquisition Regulations (FAR) clauses, completion and submission of fully compliant project documents, makes us a proven partner for complex public works projects.
