Many current railway construction projects involve the installation of overhead lines along the length of an existing railway track to allow the use of electric trains on the line, known as OLE. Electric trains are greener, quieter and cheaper to run. Since the track is still in use while the new tracks are installed, engineers cannot complete full ground investigation prior to start of project meaning that required material must be ready within very short timeframes. Ideally, suppliers can provide available stock and manufacturing capacity to ensure correct material is delivered to the job site on time.
Each railway project presents its own unique material challenges and a bespoke approach is needed. The piles must be manufactured to precise sizes to allow for smooth installation and without corrections that cost additional time and money, including potential fines faced by the contractor. At Edgen Murray we supply only from reputable mills and have our own in-house quality auditing process to ensure such delays are prevented.
We leverage our global network of vendors and experienced local supply chain to offer competitively priced packages of fabricated OLE piles and associated products that accurately meet the project requirements. Our services include cutting to length, welding, shotblasting, painting, marking and just in time delivery to site. We can also offer manufactured piles from stock for immediate call off out of our UK facilities.
